We don't have a meet-up group here in Raleigh, but we do have a good bunch of racers!

Hi Steve!
The way I figure it is that MeetUp is free, and even though our local club is over 200 members (with 30 plus actively racing), anything I can do that helps slot racers find us is a step in the right direction. I am pushing my crew hard to join meetup! Do you guys have a website? Where do you race? What kind of stuff? Ours is www.HSARC.net |

Hi Jim!
I have been pushing the guys at out club to join. I figure once people know you have something happening, and they see its really alive, they will be more inclined to come to a meet.up. I also re-scheduled them for just before racing on a club night. That way people can socialize and then actually play. I just can't see doing this at a restaurant! Are people really going to walk into Luby's and look around for a people who look like slot racers? I don't think so! Steve, what's your take? BTW Jim, check out the NOMAD link on HSARC.net for me, make sure I have it all right. One of the best things we can do is make sure all the clubs are connected! Russ,
Still very little activity on the Meet-up front. I've not asked existing Nomad members to join. That seems a good idea though, to kick start it. I have rescheduled the Meet-up events to our Saturday race dates. I would not mind a restaurant meeting, but I think that has to be optional after the main event. Our Saturday races are going well and we're looking at a larger location with larger tracks... What form of racing is most popular there? Thanks for checking in! Hi Jim,
Sorry for the delay. So we have two leagues, one for almost stock cars and one for more tuned cars. The former is so popular we have had to split it into two divisions. You start in Div B, and at the end of the 12 week season the top three from B move into A and the bottom three from A move down. What made it so poular? Ok, forst of all, any RTR car fits into one of four classes - F1 (any open wheel car), NASCAR (contemporary NASCAR or ASCAR), GT (road going sports cars or their direct racing equivalent), and le Mans (LMP, CAN AM, Group C etc). No mods, except magnets out and option of weight added. Glue and true allowed, no other additions or subtractions at all! It makes for very close rcaing across all manufacturers. Is proving very popular. What about you guys? Russ HSARC |
